CoC

A Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is an official document issued after a qualified plumber inspects your water supply, drainage, hot water, septic, rainwater, and fire water systems.  

How it works:  

- The plumber inspects the installation.  

- You receive a written notice of any risks or problems.  

- It’s up to you whether to repair, but the CoC makes risks clear.  

Why it matters:  

- Protects lives and property from unsafe or unlicensed plumbing.  

- Provides proof for insurance claims (though in South Africa, insurers are still catching up).  

- Safeguards your home or building with legal, professional assurance.
